I’ve always been fascinated by how data can be architected to solve complex problems. This single passion has guided my entire journey.
It began with a dual academic foundation: a B.S. in Industrial Statistics from the University of Colombo pursued concurrently with a B.A. in International Business & Finance from the University of the West of Scotland. This gave me a unique lens, blending rigorous quantitative methods with a global financial context.
I applied this blend at Acuity Knowledge Partners, starting as a Python Developer and Machine Learning Engineer. My focus was on the direct application of data science in finance, where I built high-performance applications for global hedge funds.
This passion for impact extends beyond my technical work. In 2024, I served as the Curator for the Global Shapers Kandy Hub. My professional and community leadership was ultimately recognized with a Fulbright Scholarship, bringing me to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) to pursue my M.S. in Financial Engineering.
Today, that core fascination with data is the thread connecting all my work—from my research publications in NLP and algorithmic trading to my personal hobby of creating novel data visualizations to make complex information engaging and fun for everyone.
